ExhiBIT App: broadening social representation within curatorial strategies to strengthen museum sustainability

The ExhiBIT App, which is mostly (but not only) designed for small to mid-sized Galleries, Libraries, Archives and other Museum spaces (GLAMs), is built in a non-authoritative approach in order to allow visitors to co-create exhibitions. It offers a variety of digitized collections, among other digital solutions, and guides visitors while allowing them to map their journey, and share their experience with other users.

Its resources mainly focus on minor or underrepresented narratives or experiences of marginalized communities – due to socio-political, ethnic, religious, gender or other cultural representation –, therefore promoting the reflection and inclusion of alternative voices within curatorial practices.

The ExhiBIT App aims to foster the transcultural approach of the new phygital (physical and digital) museum area.
